Continuing with the theme of my most recent blog, I would like to share  “When the Saints” by Sara Groves.  This song celebrates men and women of God who chose to follow Him and make Him known at all cost. Included in the line-up are:  Paul & Silas, Moses, Harriet Tubman, Jim Elliot along with his team of missionaries, and the missionaries’ families who ministered to the Waodoni people in Ecuador — with much forgiveness and unconditional love.  And, we must never forget Mother Teresa who labored faithfully in Calcutta.

Hebrews 12: 1-3 (Easy-to-Read Version)

1 We have all these great people around us as examples. Their lives tell us what faith means. So we, too, should run the race that is before us and never quit. We should remove from our lives anything that would slow us down and the sin that so often makes us fall.

2 We must never stop looking to Jesus. He is the leader of our faith, and he is the one who makes our faith complete. He suffered death on a cross. But he accepted the shame of the cross as if it were nothing because of the joy he could see waiting for him. And now he is sitting at the right side of God’s throne.

3 Think about Jesus. He patiently endured the angry insults that sinful people were shouting at him. Think about him so that you won’t get discouraged and stop trying.

We have many saints to admire — those who have gone on before us and those who are alongside of us.  Remember what The Apostle Paul said … follow me as I follow Christ (I Corinthians 11:1).

I would like to start by thanking each one of you for stopping by and visiting my blog over the past week. I hope that you will not just talk to me, but others as well. So, please feel free to respond to any and all comments posted on the site.

I want to share with you a few thoughts that I had after listening to a song, which has actually been around for a number of years – “Imagine Me” by Kirk Franklin.  I had the opportunity to hear it performed this week at a public school performance. Yes, at a public school performance. I was struck by the fact that students were whole-heartedly singing the lyrics to a ‘standing room only’ crowd. A room full of hearts ready to hear from God.  I believe that many hearts were drawn closer to the Lord because of the song’s message — God’s awesome, healing power is available to each one of us.  These students were used by God. Whether they were aware of this or not, God allowed His spirit to rest on the crowd that evening. For those of you who have not heard “Imagine Me, take a few minutes and let the Lord speak to your hearts .

How does this song minister to you?  I see God’s great love and His power to heal broken hearts and lives. Sometimes, He removes the scars. Sometimes, however, they may stay to remind us of what He has done on our behalf.

Remember Your Chains” by Steven Curtis Chapman  speaks to this. The words below are just a glimpse into the message of this song.

There’s no one more thankful to sit at the table

Than the one who best remembers hunger’s pain

Well …this is exciting. My first attempt at blogging! So…thanks in advance for your patience. Like most decisions that I make, it has taken me months perhaps even years to come to this point of blogging about something or should I say someone who has been life-changing. That is, Jesus Christ. I do not consider myself to be a religious person, but simply someone like many of you who has a desire to really know Him in an intimate way. That sounds a bit cliché, but it truly speaks to how I feel. I count it a privilege to not only read about the Lord, but experience Him first hand.

We, as believers have been given His Spirit as a comfort, guide, companion, truth-revealer, healer and more. The ways that Christ and God our Father have been revealed in scripture and even today are innumerable. One of my all-time favorite songs, which I consider an anthem of all anthems to OUR GOD is …”HE IS”. Listen carefully to the words sung by Aaron & Jeoffrey at The words can be found also at

So Why …AnEncouragedHeart?…that is what we experience as we journey together as ONE BODY in Christ!
